Bumper and Valence Seperation
Bumper and Valence Seperation
So I searched and can't seem to find what I was looking for.
I want to repaint my bumper due to nasty rusting rock chips but I can't seem to seperate the valence from the bumper. I have the bumper off the truck with the valence. There are these little clips that the bolts go through that don't seem to move? Any ideas or do they just screw out? Its probably an easy answer lol.

I have an 02 and there are bolts going the valence with little metal clips on the bottom of the bumper. The bolts just screw right into the clips. I have taken mine off numerous times and have never had a problem.
Pics show 04-05 truck.
The sides that kick up into the metal bumper snap in and out. 4 snaps per side..just a nice tug of the valence and they'll unsnap. And on the backside of the bumper, theres like 6-10 bolts that go vertical from the valence side and thread into the bumper side that hold the valence to the bumper. Takes an 8mm socket.

Alright so I got it seperated. They just screw out like I thought but for some reason last night they didn't want to lol. Must of been the lack of energy. Spent the day grinding and spreading bondo. Now its ready for primer. :)
