I just didn't like the chrome grill on the 08 XLT, but I wanted the carpeted interior.etc. So I order the grill for a Sport with the black horizontal bars, had it painted and installed it myself (4 screws). Looks great.

In retrospect, I would have been better to just buy the Sport I suspect. Putting in the carpet would probably have been less hassel, and I'd get the fog lights too instead of the goofy finned inserts.

But what the heck! Playing with it and fixing it up is half the fun

I think your talking about the STX grille, I just got a price from Ford for 240 unpainted. I laughed and left. How much did you get it for?

I have thought about adding carpet to mine but i go to the desert so the rubber mats are easier to clean.

 

Call/e-mail Lonnie at Ricart Ford in Columbus, OH. (ricartparts.com) Think it was $178 + shipping. You need a 7" Ford emblem. (they show a 5" or a 9") He knows all about this. Parts book is wrong and it took three trys to get this done. Tell him you're trying the same mod as your friend in FL. He's a good guy and will work with you
