In-channel window vent shades for Ranger.
I have no experience with the in-channel model ones. Do they install easy like the ones that stick on the outside? Any issues with fit, or wind whistling? Thinking of getting some for my Ranger, but want to hear what other people who have them think...
They look much better than the outside stick on ones too... I had a set on my old '97 with manual windows and my '07 with power windows. Both had been tinted and I never had a problem with either one for wind noise, falling out or anything.
It's a Ranger, the whole truck makes wind noise lol
Ford branded ones are like $70 my cost from my work...
I got my truck used, but they look like the style Autozone/Advance sells. I had them on my dad's old '96 Ranger and NEVER had issues (manual windows). I have manual windows on my truck too, so not sure if they cause any excessive binding with power windows.
In other forums (my car forum), some people have had issues with in-trac rain guards with their power windows. It wore down the motor in the door due to the extra friction as the window pinched the seal. Also, when I worked at BMW, most customers that had the in-channel ones complained about 2 things: 1) They had to replace their window motors more often than what was normal, and 2) The cars have a "pinch" protection built into the motor so that little fingers can't get stuck in the window as it closes.....unfortunately, the tension the rainguard put in the track was enough to cause this "protection" to kick in and had windows fully opening as the customers were trying to close them. FUNNY to hear them on the phone as it was raining and their window kept opening up.....

got mine at autozone. half what i would have had to pay in canada. love em, summertime i always leave them cracked. i dod recommend the in channel over the stick on ones. just take your time with the tape strip and all will be good.
Awww, why you gotta hate on the ole Ranger? JK man. I guess I should have said the wind noise increases over 60MPH lol.
