So I removed my old Ranger emblems from my quarterpanels. I am going to replace them with the '06+ emblems (the rectangular ones). Here is my dilemma:

I drive an '02 white FX4. I have a few options for how to custom paint my emblems:
White with Black lettering
Black with White Lettering
All Black
All White

My brother drives an '02 navy blue 4x4. He had orange pinstripes, matching blue emblems, with orange lettering. It looked sick.

I wanted to see if anybody had any pics, or if somebody is good at mocking it up in whatever photo editing software program you guys use.

Anything?

 

im pretty sure shane did some painting of the 06+ emblems, looked amazing. not 100% sure it was him though

Hahahaha yeah Ory is my bro. Did you ever see his blue and orange emblems? They were so sweet, Idk why he stripped them back to chrome.

And thanks for the fix lol. What do you guys think, black with white letters, or white with black letters? (On my OXFORD WHITE lol)

 

On your truck, leave it as-is. STOCK 06. I just think white with black letters or white with chrome letters would just look sorta goofy. I think I can get away with it since my truck's so dark. But it's just an opinion. I think you should just leave 'em as-is.


Yeah...Ory's DWB and orange emblems are what inspired me to do mine. I originally was going to do blue with black lettering or silver lettering. Then I got creative. lol.

Yeah I was thinking that maybe the 2 tone might come out a little weird. I don't know if I want the straight chrome, though, because nothing else on my truck will be chrome. I'm doing all white with black accents. So maybe paint the emblems all white or all black?

Here's my friend Timmy's truck. Even though it's silver and not white, here's what all black looks on a almost white truck...

 

Hm on his truck I think it looks pretty good. Not overly awesome or terrible. I think it would look a little better on the white truck with black accents. Hard to tell though. Thanks for the pics they help a lot!

 

i am not a fan of any of the emblems where the outer part is painted... the emblem is chrome, why cover up the part that makes it stand out compared to the older badging? i do like the painted inner part though...

 

Who wants an emblem that says "BOOM!! IN YO FUGGIN FACE" when the only chrome on the truck IS the emblem??? 06+ Fx4's are a prime example of emblems lookin' goofy and way out of place.

 

i like em on my truck... but that's just me... i've also got the polished ring on the rims, so it's an accent here and there...

As I said in another thread, when you paint the area around the Ranger you end up with an emblem that looks like just Ranger as the older one were.

I agree, it's pretty much the only chrome on my truck. That damn door lock bezel looks just as bad!

 

yup! I was thinking of a truck just like yours when I made that statement. lol.

On a sidenote: older ranger models had black door lock bezels...I think it'd be an easy swap.

 

Do you know if it is all one piece, or could just the black bezel be taken off and put onto my truck's lock cylinder?

 

I've seen one broke into and the cyl seperated from the bezel. IDK if it's designed to do that or whatever, but I honestly havnt' a clue.

 

I think I'll have to order one in at work on Tuesday and see if they do!
