ive got a summit cover, was $150. much better than the "plastic" cover that came stock.

 

This thread should have ended after Ruffstuff's cover was recommended. Its the thickess cover and the cheapest. And it doesnt have holes in it like those stupid spyder "covers"

I think the holes on the ruff stuff cover are bigger than the bolts for the housing, as soon as i hit something with the cover it starts leaking.

 

they will tap it for you. extra 5 dollars I think

 

I put button head bolts instead of the hex bolts like the pic above and it is a much cleaner and tighter fit

Vendor section was closed because none of the vendors wanted to pay the ridiculous amount the site wanted.

yea but if you see the condition the bottom of my cover is in, along with the bottom bolt you would understand why i could be scared to run bolts that are set down in the cover with allen heads.. I can still grab that bolt with a pair of vice grips but if i booger up the countersunk bolt head i'm screwed..

maybe I'll sell it and buy another one with the countersunk holes. a drain plug too.


this whole pulling the cover after every trip is getting annoying considering that ***** is heavy and a PITA to put on.. I should invest in a lubelocker gasket.

Solid....beef and cheap. its cast, as opposed to welded(not saying anything wrong about welded). sure the ruffstuff is 3/8" thick but its by no means "the best". i watched one of these take a beating this weekend on a jeep with a d60. damn good cover. best 80 bucks i ever spent

 

nope, i ordered that and decided "naw thats a bad idea" for the reasons mentioned.. but i may go any buy another one.. someones gotta want a cover with a skull on it hah

I would put the ruff stuff cover up against any of the other ones on the market.. they're all plenty strong and will take more than enough abuse. EXCEPT for those "unbreakable" clear ones. yea I've seen 'em broken

 

well for starters wes just had a crappy stock dodge diff cover. he knew it sucked. but its not his fault he didnt get them in time.

there was an old cj that i kept watching the guy beat the mess out of it and he had solid covers from and rear. one time he was diffed up HARD and i was like yes lets test this puppy. barely a scratch. im very pleased with mine. and it looks freakin wicked.

 

i don't doubt it, I as just being a smart ***, the only jeep you wheeled with all weekend with a 60 was Wes.. I guess that full size old red jeep had a 60 front.. and iirc a solid cover.

 

you still need to bedazzle the word solid. Makes it stronger and gives you 20 more hp.
