Just picked up a used 2001 ranger XLT and have run into a problem. The passenger side door latch is extremely stiff. It takes everything I've got to pull the handle up to open it. So much force I always think I'm going to break the handle before the mechanism releases. Anybody know how to loosen that?

Are there power door locks and do they work on passenger door?

Does the interior door handle work easily to open the door?

In any case you will need to remove the door panel to get access to the lock/unlock rods and see whats causing the issue
