Door lock doesn’t match key

I just got my new truck and everything was great until I tried to unlock the passenger door. The key that unlocks the driver’s door and starts the truck (the only key I was given) does not match the passenger door. Does anyone know if a 1999 ranger door lock can be re keyed so that my key will work to open it? And if it can be done how can this be done? Thank you for all the help!

You should be able to get it re-keyed by a locksmith. You would either need to take the cylinder out and take it to the keysmith's shop or have them come to you.

Try some liquid graphite and a little extra pressure to turn the key.

It may only be like a parts truck I bought, just stuck because the original owner only used the Key Fob no key.

somtimes the key is sticky in the passenger side lock.. as in sometimes they get stuck and dont work. sometimes i cannot unlock my passenger side and it feels like its the wrong key. i highly doubt the locks dont match... give it a few more tires and mess with it before you go through the trouble of re-keying the lock

I stoped by the locksmith and she came out and took a look at it thinking it was just stuck or something and she could not get it to work. she wanted me to pull it and then bring it back. I thin went home and pulled it out and i am not sure what had happened to it but came loose when it was out of the truck and started working and I have not had a bit of trouble with it since then. I have no idea what i did to it to make it work but it saved me $25 and a trip back to the locksmith.
