I searched for this and did'nt find anything, so i'll ask.

I have an 01 XL it'd like to convert it to an 01-03 Edge, all I want to replace is the front bumper and rear bumper, I know the rear a direct bolt on but is the front also? I'm not going to replace the hood or the grill, since I'm just gonna paint the grill white like the Thunderbolts had.

Yes, if you are doing a swap from xlt to edge, the front bumper is a direct bolt on... However, now that I see you have an xl, I am not sure if it will work for you or not. I have to read more before I type.

 

does not matter that its an xl, an edge bumper will work, works as far back as 98 I believe,,

 

The problem is finding one. I've been looking for 3 days now without success.

XL bumpers are the same as 2wd XLT but XL is painted black or grey, where the XLt 2wd are chrome. Yes....the swap is a direct bolt on. You'll need a EDGE upper bumper, and a EDGE lower bumper, along with foglites. And you could even make those lites functional & stock looking by getting a 2wd EDGE radio bezel w/ foglite switch.

On the rear, your '01 should have the "work truck" looking rear bumper on it. I have no clue on if the brackets are all the same between the xlt/edge rear and the xl rear for '01. My little brother has a '01 xl with the work truck bumper.....let me check it out if you want.
