Electric Winch Mounting

Im thinking of getting an Electric Winch for my truck 07 fx4L2 & was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on how to mount it.

front hitch and winch carrier from summitracing... that way you can remove it when not needed. because they do weigh a decent amount

Have three choices when it comes to brush guards. Warn, Mile Marker, or custom made. For the prices of the first two, you can have one built more solid and cheaper than them. I'll post a picture of our custom built one once I leave work.

I'm running a custom mount that bolts to the tow hooks.

If you rarely use it and don't mind having to take it on and off, I would suggest using a front receiver. I don't have room to store it elsewhere and I don't feel like taking it on and off, so I permanently mounted it to the front. I didn't notice the front being any heavier.

i have what eguy208 is running, for mild offroad use its great, and its only 4 bolts to take off, just make sure u get the quick disconnects for the power cables..

in my case im getting pretty annoyed with the winch plate hitting rocks before i can get a tire up on it making offroading pretty interesting haha

but i will have to say i have had a decent side pull and a few very demanding pulls and the plate is still there so its a great design.
