Will a fender flares from a 97 work on a 98 and up?

those same flares came on 98-00's....

 

I am wondering that too...does anyone know for sure?....they are the 'same' but the 97 and older ones don't have the crappy integrated mud guards that leave a hole when you remove them...so I am lookin to do this...
