Fiberglass questions

Ok, the ranger is undergoing "wholesale" changes getting ready for the upcoming show season.

I have been doing some research and found the wheels and tires that I am going with and also found a few other things.

I have a body lift already and will be putting it on when the wheels and tires show up. But I know that as stated before that when running the 35's with just a bl that glass fenders will be needed for extra clearance. Well while researching I found full front end replacements. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the full front end kits? Even looking at the 150 conversion.

Any input. Also the lift will be following shortly after but I want to go with the Dixon kit so I will wait until after the season and I can down the truck for winter again.

Well the fenders aren't a problem if you take out your inner fender wells as well. I mean i've seen rangers with stock susp running 35's and glass fenders with no rubbing. Witha BL you should have no problem. Just make sure you get some sort of a gap guard if you are going to put this into a show. Now, as for the 1 peice kits, They are pretty nice. Fiberwerx Xtreme kit is by far the best looking on a ranger IMO if painted correctly. With the f-150 HID it would surely be a show stopper if it was painted right. Now, what you have to understand is that fiberwerx's products aren't actually 1 peices, They are 2 peice sets that use a latch setup.

The only problem I think you will have is with the stance. if I'm not mistaken the f-150 clip is based on a ranger with approx 4-5"s wider per side but I might be mistaken, You should call up fiberwerx and see how big their flares are, if they say anything about 5 don't get them.

Awesome, thanks for the info. The tires I am planning on running are 15.5" wide. And I am going to work on the offset a bit to space them out a little more.

I will give werx a call today and see what they have to say.

Yeah, I know they aren't really 1 piece, they have the little quarter fender thingies. But primarily I will just lift the hood off to do work :)

As for a pic, here is one, you can go to www.fiberwerx.com for more.

Darnit. It is a 6" bulge. Welp, looks like I will have to run with a pair of fenders. There just isn't any way that I think I could fill up a 6" bulge with a 4x4 I can't even find a fiberglass one piece front end with a 3" bulge in just the ranger style.

Hey Cass, the Dixon Kit says that it is 4" wider per side on the 4wd model. Do you know if I ran this suspension like I plan to and ran the 14.5" wide tires that it would fill up the 6" bulge?

Good Lord thats a wide tire!

I have 6" flair glass with 12.5" wide tires on 8" wheels with a 3.75" backspace, they stick out by a good inch past the glass...

Cool, that is what I needed to know. Now maybe I can back down a bit on the width of the tire since I know it will fill it up.

But I also got called from a buddy of mine when he saw this post and told me to go SAS or go home lol

Welp. I will be ordering fenders and bedsides within a week! As for the suspension, it will be getting an SAS as they can do it cheaper than the cost of the Dixon kit with shocks. Plus I can run some bigger tires that way too :)

Heck yeah! Then I can go wheeling with Jey and not have to walk along side lol

I am thinking about getting a D60 and cutting it down and putting a cut 9" in the rear but that will be another topic down the road.
