gen 2 ranger light above the cab

ok, so the light above the cab is used as a cargo light on my truck.
is it supposed to also be a third brake light?? or is it only for lighting the bed?
and if it is a third brake light, how many bulbs does it take?? cause when i took it apart it only have a single bulb

Its only a cargo light. No 3rd brake light till '93.

From the ever useful wikipedia:
In 1986, the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Transport Canada mandated that all new passenger cars have a CHMSL installed. Because Elizabeth Dole was Secretary of Transportation at the time, these lights were occasionally referred to as "Dole lights". A CHMSL was required on all new light trucks and vans starting in 1994.

So they were only required on trucks from '94 onward...

The 6.4 "has two-stage turbochargers to improve driveability. Previous generation diesels used a single large turbo with a big heavy impeller...."

So yes it is twin turboed.
