grille question

im sure that this has been answered before, but i cant find it using the search feature... i have a 01 ranger 2wd... and i hate the grille thats on it... i would love to have the honeycomb one from a 4x4... would these grilles fit with each other? can the shell come out. (the bars for the comb) or do i need to get the whole grille? thanks in advanced.

I think if you replace the grill shell and all from a 4x4 with the honeycomb grill onto your 2wd.

He has an 01, (XLT I guess)

He has this (maybe not chrome):

He wants one like this:

You'll need to replace the entire grille and surround. Not sure if the mounting locations are the same.

since you have a 01 get an 01 -03 grille if you want one with the argent bars then youll have to get a new hood, header panel, and grille.

Hey....Look!

Truck on left is 2001 XLT 4x4(same grille as Edge). Truck on right is 2001 XL WITH a 2003 Edge grille with the stock 2001 XL hood. Note: The larger gap between thegrille and hood....

It is a direct swap. Your current grille is sometimes referred to a 'closed' grille. The Edge/XLT 4x4 is sometimes called an 'open' grille. IF you compare the pics, you can figure that out. ALL 01-03 grilles are swappable with eachother. BUT...you will need a inner grille AND grille shell to make it all work. Just pull out your old one, snap in the new one, BAM! done.

Argent bars are stock for 01-03 XL..... Looks just like the chrome one posted above, but is grey/argent.

The grille you want is a 01-03 XLT 4x4 OR EDGE grille.(see my pics above) The grille you have is a 01-03 XLT 2wd(chrome bars) OR XL grille(grey bars).

make sense?

check out http://www.certifit.com

They've got many locations around the nation, and very very good prices for OEM quality aftermarket parts.
