I want a beefier look up front and i was wondering: would it take a new header panel and everything to go from the XLT grille/hood to the style on the white truck

or would I just have to change the hood and grille/shell?
ps- i hope the owners of these trucks dont mind me using their pics, I'm at work with no access to my pics

 

that white truck is a 2004 or 2005... and the red is a 2001-2003


If yours is like the red truck, then go with a grill like mine. (should be a direct swap)

 

yeah mines an 02 xlt, i like the edge's of my year, i was just wondering if it would take way more to get that look. its looks a little more Heavy duty.

 

well you can change your put an edge hood, grille, and bumper on your's if ya want to, it all bolts up. or you could just change the grille, but there would be a small gap, hardly noticed to the untrained eye. there is a guy on here running an lifted 2wd xlt with the stick hood and an edge grille. so you can just make your look like an edge. i know that everything will fit cuz i put an 03 4x4 front on my 99, if you got any ?'s i'd be glad to hellp ya out

You will have to change the header panel, grill, and the hood. The lights should be the same as yours.

VERY EASY MOD....Here's my brother's truck (black reg cab) and my truck (dark blue ex cab). All yo uhave to do is remove the cover that attaches the grill to the header panel, remove the headlights, remove the corner lights, remove grill, then attach the new grill, and put everything back and your mod is done. Now, you like the edges of your year, '02. You will need to get an Edge or XLT 4x4 grill from an 01-03. It will be a direct swap. Both my brother's truck and mine are '01. XL and 2wd XLTs have the same grill except chrome. The picture of the white truck is an '04-05. You will need ALOT more parts than just a grill to make that one work...look at the previous posts to get details. GOOD LUCK !!!

thanks for the help and just to clarify i specificly wanted the 04-05 grille but wouldnt mind 01-03edge style

 

yeah i like the new ones better too, but when i was looking for parts (ebay, forums, salvage yards, parts are almost impossible to find and the ford garage aint exactly a cheap place to shop!

 

think there is any chance of finding an EDGE hood at a junkyard that isnt F*cked?

 

idk if im just missing it,ive already serched and cant find what year grille is interchangable with an 03 rangerf if im just missing it can someone post a link to it or plz help.thanks
