How to remove black plastic portion of rear bumper on 07 Ranger?

I have a dent in the plastic and want to take it off to see if I push the dent out. I went under and tried for about 20 mins. It appears that I need to take the black plastic clips out but have no idea how. Anybody know?

What would you recommend me squeezing them with? I tried plyers but they dont squeeze smaller than the opening. And what pad are you talking about?

I used some long handle needle nose. Its a ***** to get them cause it seams like there are a million tabs.

I took the bumper off first thou.

I have the pad I removed(couple scratches but nothing major) if anybody can use it, cheap! Just to big to ship.

I assume he's talking about the black plastic "pad". The exact thing you're trying to remove.

Hmmm, I keep trying and I can't seem to get them through, are there any bolts that need to be taken off?

No bolts, its easier to take the bumper off, then you can get to them and squeeze and push on them easier

There are 4 main bolts and 2 bolts that attaches the supports to it at the outter edges at the bottom.
