and yea, the new bumpers are all plastic. you earlier y2k guys are lucky. at least you get some metal.

 

on my 93 of course the bumper is metal with no horizontal piece behind it, just the brackets. then my valance is plastic wiht only metal brackets. i have taken the valance off because it caught on quite a few things while out wheeling.
