I need options on a winch setup.

Now that i won a second winch, I have a dilemma.

should I:
1) weld up a bracket and permanently mount a winch under the bed, about where the stock spare tire sits, then put a front receiver on it and make the new winch removable.
- I don't like what the old winch did to the coils..

2) same as 1, except permanently mount the front one

3) just run some wire to the back and only have one winch on a winch tray thingy that plugs into a receiver on the front or back..

I'm open to other opinions. I'll be keeping the Harbor Freight winch around for a while until the Smittybilt gets a proper test since the HF one has proved itself.

The Smittybilt one will also be getting some synthetic line and the steel cable off the new winch will go onto the HF one.

I vote for dual receivers so they're both removable... even though that wasn't a choice

i wont do it that way.. lol, sorry.

i don't want to have to secure 2 winches in my bed.. and a winch sticking out of a receiver on both ends would kill my approach and departure angles.

besides the extra weight on the front end, the only thing keeping me from wanting to mount it permanently on the front is that my bumper will have to stick out farther to protect the winch.

huh? i just want to tuck the winch back in the bumper.. and not get smacked on rocks.

and securing them in the bed.. not for security reasons as in I don't want them stolen... I don't want 2 winches sticking out over a foot infront of and behind my truck, I'll bash them on rocks and drag them when i go up steep stuff.

I'd do the Smittybuilt winch on a winch tray for both front and rear receivers.

i have a solution for one on the back. mount it in the spare tire area and then put the rollers where your liscense plate goes. and if you have your liscense plate there and wanna keep it there they make a product that clips to your fairleads and still holds the liscense plate

thats exactly what i was going to do.. but idk if you've seen my rear bumper?

I'm going to need to design a new rear bumper before i do this.

perma rear, and perma front.. I dont want to be all bound up in some weird crevice, off camber and slippery trying to line up 75-100 lbs of steel, above my head... there for its getting mounted up solid
