[QUOTE=0sixsport]I guess its good in a way that he is trying to look out for my best interest in case something happens to my daily driver, but he should also start to learn that I am going to cover the cost of whatever happens to it. I have many other methods of transportation if something happens, and I will suffer the consequences of the choices I make, while the truck is being repaired.QUOTE]

Thats where you stand out, you want to "play" and even though your day is looking out for you your ready to "pay" if somthing goes wrong, instead of the parents paying for everything.

Thanks, and thats what bugs me the mosis that my parents know my financial situation and know what I am capable of paying for, but still want to control me. And by the way, they think lifted trucks are the most immature thing ever and tell me every time that I will grow out of this stage.

My dad pays for my stuff. I only ask for stuff at Christmas and on my bday though. I had a job for a few months, he made me quit. I told him I wanted to pay for stuff and he said he would pay for whatever I needed. I haven't asked for jack since then except oil change stuff. I dont feel like messing him over.

Thats cool dude. Everyone's parents are different and have different ways of teaching. I wish my dad would volunteer to pay for more, but at the same time I am glad that I am so financially independent because I know it will help me in the long run.

I love how this thread went from me seeing a lifted truck, to us talking about what are parents pay for and what not.

ill hop on the band wagon haha.
my rents bought me my truck brand new, and they are fortunate enough to have it paid off already, but everything that goes into the truck is out of my pocket.
the way i see it, is if the persons parents are cool enough to give em a car/truck, then thats sweet, no problem, but when the person isnt greatful for it and jus think everything is a hand out is when i get annoyed.

but ill have my 07 lifted within the next 8months i hope hah
