Leak Question

Ok so i have a leak in the cab by the rear window. I took it to the dealership and they said that it was the third brake light. They said that they could either get another 3rd brake light which is $100 or try and silicon it for like $20 bucks. it rains like crazy in florida so its not something i can just leave. so what should i do? can i buy something aftermarket thats cheaper to solve the problem? if i remember there is an L.E.D third brake light thats plug n play. i dunno if it will fix the problem but i was just throwin it out there.

Thanks
-Vic

Look on ebay for stock third brake lights, they shouldnt be more than $25. Third brake lights from certain year f250s f350s and explorer sport tracs work. You can also get a LED third brake light for around $50 (maybe more). www.stuffforyourranger.com has them. They are also on ebay.

Had leak in same area in my super Cab with a sliding window. Please check that the gasket around the window is not the culprit. Mine was leaking, fixed with silicone. After I had replaced the brake light.

yea i think the problem is the seals around the windows not the 3rd break lights. we had a white one on our lot that leaked n they replaced the window seal
