wet sanding will make it shiny as well as clearcoating it... as far as what it is, im guessing its using water on the object when sanding it with like 1000 grit

Don't wet sand the niteshades, it will leave it uneven. Put at least 2 coats of clear then wet sand then put a final coat of clear.

^^^^ when you wet sand you want to wet sand the clear in this case anyway...there isnt enough orange peel to worry about with night shade paint

I tinted my tails and 3rd brake light about a year ago. The stuff seems to fade alot so be prepaired to repaint then every year.

I know this is an old post but I found it using the search function. Anyways..I picked up a LED 3rd Brake Light from Wayne @ Underdog & since it wasn't dark enough to go with the Theme of my Truck I used NightShades & a couple coats of clear.

Thanks guys. I bought the smoked version of the 3rd brake light hoping it would be dark enough but after installing it the light looked out of place with the rest of the truck.

Thanks again guys. Ordered a Chrome 2006 Grille this morning from Jusnes.
I've always liked that look ever since they showed that look on the Tonka Concept & then added it to the SuperDuty line & finally the Ranger line.
When & if they do make a billet insert I'll powder coat it black.

Rick
