noises under the bed rattle and clunk

the rattle and the clunk i think are caused by the same issue but idk where to look. at idle theres an annoying vibration in the bed area some were under nether. cant really pin point it while on top of it. the clunk like every time the back passenger tire hits a bump or turns to hard its clunk or a pop. i do have a bad shackle on that said but its not broke yet. also the shock on that said the cover was starting to come off it but i was told that wont really effect how the shock works. i did put a new pipe coming of the cat and muffler the last bending piece of exhaust was not replaced. the muffler is not supported and will prob use a coat hanger or 2 when it gets nice enough to crawl under it. if any one has any advice were to look id apperiate it. its prob my exhaust vibrating off something

Check the heat shield coming off your catalytic converter. If you say your exhaust is hung improperly that could be an issue as well, but you added new stuff from the cat. back, so i'd look there first.

thanks for that possability. yes it is hung improperly. this is my second muffler on this truck in 2 years. i cut the stock hanger off not thinking it was important or could replace it. prob the cause of the old muffler falling off and braking the pipe in between the muffler and cat. i dont like rigging things but im gonna use a coat hanger to support it. i just know that the vib is under the bed and bout the middle so that would make sense. im sure if the weather wasnt so shitty here i would of been under it already and found the problem.

Hey myersth, I had a rattle on my 03 Ranger and found out that the spare tire was flat. I filled it with air and no more rattle...lol.
