It looks like it would only mount up to an EDGE/Sport or 4X4 frame. Assuming that, the Waag bar wouldn't work an a 2WD XL or XLT?

lol, that didnt sound right, sorry. I bet its not as strong as what cop cars have. If you push another vehicle with it (like the cops do) I am sure that the WAAG bar would simple bend thus why I dont get the point of it other than a mount for lights.

Waag bar fit my 01 XL fine. had to trim the bumper a little for the lower bracket to fit, but no biggie.

(Oh, I don't care what you guys think, i liked it)

The Waag bar is now removed, adn I am slowing converting it to an Edge front end. (got the hood and bumper in my shop right now.)

Roach2004 stated that the mount only scratched his bumper and saved his whole bumper thanks to the guard. I think someone else also said it saved there truck when they were in an accident. I'm sure it's made tougher than just for looks. All our patrol cars here either use Manik or GoRhino. Once I see the Waag in person I could tell you how much they differ.

Edit: Out of all the forums i've posted this on, i've tallied up a total of 16 bars that people said they were interested. I hope we can have all these committed at the beginning of the year.

Would the WAAG bar fit on an 99 XLT 4x4? I'm going to assume the frames for the std cab and ext are the same (except length, duh..) and have little effect on the thing fitting. I have a step side, ext cab if that's a factor..

What's the progress on this???

I'm waiting on a reply from Robin over at G-E to see what we need to send with payment so Irma will know what it's for. I'm thinking about a Mid to End of February deadline. Will let ya know soon as I find out.

I want one for the sake of vehicle moving. In utah tons of drivers slide off. hell in a good storm you reports of 200+ accidents in one day!

so with that being said. i do alot of vehicle recovery in the winter by my house and this bar would make moving cars way easy.. just give em an old tap a roo

Just got a reply from Robin and he said when you send in your payment just be sure to include truck details....year model etc....and that it's for the original Sportster bar. Tax season is coming up so maybe the mid to end of february dates can help out.

Another update!!! Deadline has been set for end of March. Will need everyone to send their money between 03/29 - 04/04. Reason being Robin over at G-E has been talking to Irma and the front guards are not their biggest priority. Another thing is once they hit 10 orders they will begin to make them so we all need to send the money at the same time. This deadline will also give everyone plenty of time to save up. Just remember this may be the last time we will be able to get these bars ever.

Jimmeh, I'm gonna say it would require some fabrication. Maybe one of the guys that has one can help you out.

It will fit on it and it mounts to the frame rails. You will need to call Irma at Waag and see how much extra it would be to ship to Canada. We'll start sending her our payments at the end of March.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I was looking at Triggers a little more, and I see how it mounts....it would require quite a bit of fab work, I think.

They have to be bought in bundles because they have been discontinued for several years. The only place to get one is find someone selling one and that is very rare. This will prolly be the last time there will be a group buy so it would be wise to get one IMO.

Just so everyone understands....do not send any payments until the end of March. We don't want anyone getting left out and if we start sending now and hit 10 those that don't have the funds right now will be screwed.

No problem. Robin posted today that he ordered a bar, not for a Ranger, and Irma counted it towards the group purchase. So all we will need is 9 more but if everyone has the funds in March, we will have way more than 9.
