A Pillar Spotlight

I ran across someone selling one of those A Pillar swivel spotlights like you see in a police cruiser. I was wondering if anyone has any experience mounting one of these things. How hard is it to do? Will it mess up my truck (i.e. weaken the pillar)? Will it look stupid? My boss' city vehicle ('05 Ex) has one, and it looks pretty sharp, and I know they are handy, but I already have 7 offroad lights mounted so it's not a necessity.

They are very easy to mount once you get over the fact that you are drilling through the pillar. I use strictly Unity lights just like the police so I felt assured I was getting a good & thought through product. If you need any help, just holler & I will do my best to pass along any tips & knowledge I have. I start college tomorrow so I will not be around as much as I used to be but you can get me here, my site or just e-mail me @ Rockingnibor69@comcast.net I don't drive a Ranger anymore but I do drive a 1986 Isuzu Trooper II. Yes. I have installed the spotlight on it as well.

If you have a pic of the light installed on the Ranger that you could post up, that would be great.

to answer one of the OP's questions, Any hole drilled through the body will be a weak point, but honestly the A-pillar is not that strong to begin with. Just avoid standing on your roof, or rolling over and you should be fine.
