question for 2007 owners

i noticed the other day when it got cold outside , the windshield was rattling and banging on driver side lower windshield.

i called the dealership and explained the problem , they aknowleged that some 2007 rangers were delivered with defective windshield glue

so now i have to call my broker on monday and have them call my insurance company to book a appointment with speedy auto glass for windshield removal and resealing.

( why do i have to contact my broker and insurance company you ask )

anything to do with windshields , the insurance company must be notified ,, safety issue

the auto glass place does not guarantee that the windshield will not fracture when they try to remove it.

any other 2007 owners having any issues with serious condensation inside their ranger`s cab

That's a factory defect, and it sounds to me like you should be contacting FOMOCO and telling them you need to have your windshield replaced or resealed or someone could get injured.

I don't have any issues with mine... I'm assuming my windshield had been replaced before I got the truck though, as it doesn't have the Ranger logo in it.

well the ford dealer likely itself wont replace the glass themselves...they will sublet it out to a company that specializes in glass

Yeah, They'll sublet it out, but his insurance company won't be paying for it.

it sounds like glass rattling against metal

my 2 other rangers never did it when they were cold

the dealer said that some 2007 rangers were shipped with defective windshield glue/ sealant

she said that some other owners complained about the same problem , but there is nothing that the dealership could do about it

she told me that i have to go to a glass specialist to have it repaired

my 08 had a bad upper left corner. it leaked water. the dealer covered it under warranty. depending on how many km's are on your odo, i'd see if they'd cover it. 07, you should still have a little bit of room left on that warranty unless you did a couple cross country trips.

also, i never told my insurance about the windshield being fixed.

they said even when the truck was still under warranty , ford of canada would still not cover the defective windshield issue.

I've already replaced the OEM windshield because of a hail storm, Shop put in a new OEM one and sealed it all up so I'm good to go...

did you go directly to ford of canada's warranty department or were you told that by the dealer that didn't want to honor the warranty work?

you said when the truck was under warranty. i'm guessing it no longer is.
