Question about EXT. Cab Ranger

OK, I'm new here so if this is the wrong spot let me know.

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger extended cab and I can't get the rear doors open. I'm not sure whats wrong. On the passenger side, the top unlatches and the bottom does not. And on the driver side, neither the top or bottom unlatches.

I have looked at it, but have no idea what is wrong. I'm hoping someone here has some idea whats wrong and can help me out!

Are the cables in the door handles still attached? I have seen the cables come off the handles before, simple fix.

x2. My driver side rear door has the cable slip out all the time, causing the handle to do nothing. Simple fix as it is basically the same design as a simple pedal bike brake lever.

Then its probably internal which sucks.

Maybe try using a flathead to manually open the clamp things that keep the door shut so you can get it open and inspect it more thoroughly.

Bringing this thread back up. I am replacing my door handles because the plastic pieces behind handles that hold the cables broke.

One of my cables I pulled out (I think it was for the bottom). Does anyone know how I can get the door open?

Take off the plastic covers and reach inside the door and pull on the cables. If the cables are broken or unattached, you will have to pull up on the latch (bottom) or down on the latch (top).
