Hey guys,

I saw some shocks on a 07 Ranger Level II today, and they were yellow, not sure if there are Rancho shocks or not, I know that the FX4 came with them. But my question is, are these a big difference from my stock shocks on my 07 Ranger Sport 4x4?

And are these hard to swap?

Those were Bilstein shocks. Those prolly fit yours, but I'm not 100%, as I don't have a LVLII, or 4WD for that fact.

 

Would these make a big difference in the drive of the truck?

These would only be for the rear right?

 

the '08+ FX4's have rancho shocks.

 

They'd be front and rear. and they're stiffer than yours.

 

I hear people from other threads that they do like the Bilstein shocks, are they worth the switch over? I saw some in an 07 Level II the other day, I don't know if they have all 4 of them or not, but just wondering if it's worth the money to switch?

 

imo man youll never get your truck to ride as smooth as you want it to no matter how much money you sink in suspension its a truck its meant to ride rough ha ha

 

well I'm not really complaining about the ride, I was just wondering if there was like a huge difference in them, that's all.

 

there's a big difference if your old shocks are worn out or busted. but if your current shocks are still good, you just notice a stiffer ride.

 

I noticed a slightly stiffer ride, but there is no comparison onroad or offroad with bumps and uneven terrain.

i am runnin the rancho rsx on my 04. rides a little stiff but hell its a truack right. next shocks i get will be bilstiens fo sho

 

not trying to hijack the thread but relized i needed new shocks and pro leafs will the blistens also help with towing heavy loads.

 

shocks counteract the "springy" action your vehicle has whenever you hit a bump. it's your leaf springs that do all the working during towing.

My right rear shock and mount came loose coming home from hunting. Let me tell you, it was like jumping on a trampoline. Dad had to fab a custom mount after that predicament. Now I got Rough Country shocks, they are pretty good, as good of a ride your going to get on a 4 inch lift and 31's. :)
