the old cigarette lighter tat i had never even taken out just so happens to be the perfect size for the switch to fit into. i also put a set on my buddies 1500 sierra tonight but i never got any pics. we mounted the lights behind the grill like mine but we are going to order another set and mount 4 lights behind his grill.

ya i used flat bar about 3/16" think, 1.5" wide and cut it to fit. i had to noth the rad support so the bracket would fit flat and just bent angles with a hammer in a vice until i made something that i felt would fit and be strong enough. you cannot move those lights at all now...
laz its your turn next

There's a little hole thats behind the brake pedal to the left a little. You'll see wires going in and out of it. And to the OP. The Hellas look great man! Love the switch location!

thanks for the tip! i think these are only 45w?? i would really like them brighter thats for sure.
the switch location was pure luck... i had honestly never even pulled out the cigarette lighter in the truck before and it kinda just fell out when i pulled the radio section. turns out it was one hell of a good mistake!!!
as for the wiring i found a large rubber boot in the firewall under the fuse block (need to release the clips and pull the fuse block up out of the way to see it). i had previously ran my wiring for my subs through there so i already knew about it. easiest way to get through it is to use a coat hanger and tape your wires on it and punch it through.
as for the wiring diagrams that come with the kit i really hated how it was designed to power the switch and relay off the highbeam circuit so i tapped into my side marker lights so i can turn the hellas on any time the markers are on. (i doubt i will need the hellas on unless my regular lights are on too)

Lights look nice!
I opened up my set of Hella's before I wired them up & found that the blue wire is actually the Hot wire & black is Ground. Even the instructions say blue is ground, never heard of a colored wire being ground before, so I investigated.
Not that it makes much difference, as long as they're both wired the same way.
I think I used 1/8" flat bar 1 1/4" wide to fab up my brackets... I had to go in front of the grille (stupid 96 grille!)
My 500FF's came with 55w bulbs.
