Ranger longbed sizes ?

I have an '02 ranger 7' long bed truck cap on craigslist that someone wants for his '92 ranger long bed but he is concerned that there may be a size difference between the '02 and '92. Since the potential buyer is some distance away, I can not just drive over and find out and that is why I am asking here.

Could anyone shed some light on this problem ?

Good chance on it fitting the bed but it probably isn't gonna line up to the cap right.

It will fit! I know this from experiance. A guy I worked with had a 92 ranger with a later model topper on it and it worked fine.

The only problem would be if your cap has contoured sides. The length is the same, 7', but my cap has sides that extend below were the contact patch is so that it's a smooth transition to the sides of the bed. If you can see the contact patch on the front of your cap, you should be fine..

Sorry for the bad picture, but hopefully it helps..

Yes, I can see the contact patch in the front of the cap and the sides set flush with the top of the bed (no contour), so my guess is that it will fit.
I think I'll just email a link to this thread and let him decide.

Thanks for all the replies folks.
