Repairing fiberglass

Okay so Im a moron. Today was just a down right horrible day

Can I easily fix this (see pictures) by buying fiberglass stuff and layering it over to build the area back up then paint it?

Set the cover off so you can get the underside too if its damaged, and to keep paint overspray off your truck. You have the idea. Build it up with glass, then smooth that out and get some primer on it. Blending the paint might be difficult if you haven't done it before.

Well all im gonna say is I always take the cover off and sit it on top of 2 cinder blocks one on each side

I took it off and was walking backwards and well the cinder block tripped me, and it went down with me. landing just on that corner.

Of course like a loving husband I blamed my wife for not helping me

And that is the way it has always sat. Even had a friend who installs them look at it and he said that was normal for some reason

hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like you can just take the fiberglass body filler and lay a coat over it. I don't think you need to lay new glass over it. Again, it's hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like an easy fix.
