:?: I need some help from you guys and gals. I want to swap out my rear windows on my 4 door,. I have noticed that 4 doors only seem to have factory tinted windows without a gasket around it. I also noticed all supercabs have clear windows with a gasket around it. Does anyone know why this is? More importantly, does anyone know if I can put the clear windows in my truck????

Marcos, why??? i don't understand?

well i don't think that you can really swap them, i "think" that the mirrors are basically "glued",for lack of a better word, on.

i am not sure though so don't give up

Marcos, if the Ranger Ext. cab is anything like the Frontier that we deal with daily at Nissan, the windows are different per application.

The Ranger windows with the seal are only on the Extened cab, but not the Supercab. On the other hand, only the Supercab has the recessed windows with the factory tint.

These differences are due to the different structures of the two types of doors. Supercab doors and windows are designed to take more abuse, therefor the reinforcements are stronger on these doors.

The extended cab windows are on a stationary platform, so they are simply sealed on.

Answering your question, I don't think the windows can be traded due to the differences in the door structure. The 4-door windows are glued on, but have fun getting them off. :)

Why don't you want tint on those windows??

Your right John. Thats EXACTLY what Ford told me. Thats why the 4dr doesnt have the seal. It is actually a smaller window versus the extended cab. I like the look of no tint, I have for awhile. It seems I must find some who produces aftermarket glass for the doors(that are strong, i.e. good warranty). I can just peel the doors and the rear solid when I find them....I just need to find them......
