Tail gate Emblem removal?

i have the 2000 ford ranger XLT flareside. I ran a search but couldnt find the exact answer. I want to remove my Ford emblem in the back tail gate. If i remove it, will there be holes in back of it or is it just mounted on there with some awesome adhesive? Would it look nice if i removed it? lmk, thanks

man u can pay like 30 bucks for someone to shave the emblem... and repaint it, plus white is an easy color to match.

Sweet! I just found one on craigslist for $15! Now I just have to paint it dark shadow gray. Would anyone happen to know how much it is to buy your own paint that matches my color?
