wellll im looking to maybe put a sticker of something back there and im wanting to take off the ford emblem to the lower right of the tailgate...i have a 98 xlt so yea just wondering if there will be any holes..dimples....paint chipped away kinda things u know? thanks!

 

There are 2 or 3 small holes there,heat the emblem up with a hair dryer and "floss" it off with some fishing line.You may have to carefully pry it off toward the the center.Take your time and you shouldnt damage your paint.

 

Use Goo Gone to get any remaining sticky residue off of the paint. If you want to fill in the holes you should use bond-o in them. The rest is common sense from there. But take your time and use a heat gun to get the glue soft.

 

What kind of sticker do you want to put back there?

 

if all you use to fill in teh holes is bondo its gona crack and split down the road, its gonna take more than that
