ok i am not trying to bash...but what is the purpose of these bars??

Do you like the looks or jsut somewhere to mount lights?

Other than that I cant see a purpose, they offer minimal protection, adn if you do hit somethign they will fold into teh truck anyways. Just curious

'Cause it looks cool. Pretty much the same reason I have a full brush guard on my truck.. I love the look. I'm sure it's not very functional, but after visiting Texas, where every vehicle on the road seems to have a brush guard, I just had to have one.

if she wanted something functionible we would have made a full bumper. and it does help protect the ****ty plastic bumper. we were wheeling and ran into some deep ruts. the bullbar/skid plate stopped and damage that would have torn the bumper up. granted it takes up some approach angle but is not a serious wheeler to begin with.

I Like mine alot couldnt get the daylighters to fit where they were suppose to go so i made a bracket and bolted it the the back side of the bar and it looks great.

On Wholesalemn.com they dont show the ultimate bull bar fro the 98-00 model year. Do they make one for that year range? If not is it possible to buy the bar and use the mount kit for the safari bar?
