The other day 2 mice got loose in my truck and now the door ajar light won't go off. I checked and didn't notice any chewed up wires or anything. Does anyone know which wire controls the door ajar?

 

Could it be the door sensors? They kind of go bad after awhile by themselves.

 

How did you get mice in your truck? But ya I don't know where those wires are sorry.

It's just funny that as soon as these mice get loose in the truck the light comes on.

We picked some up for my friend's snakes. Stopped at a bar for lunch and forgot about them. Come back out and two of them were gone. I caught them the next day, but they were in there a while.

 

ive got the same problem. not the mice but the door ajar light.

 

if i am right the switch is in the inside the door on the latch

 

I'm am also under the impression that the switch is in the latch. The quick fix is to try some WD-40 or other lube to free them up, sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. I know mine is on all the time and WD didn't help me, I just don't wanna replace them.

 

you really have to spray alot of wd-40 in there to get them to free up.

i have had the same problem, but after several sprays and using the door it finally went away

 

it is on the latch inside the door. heres what i done to get it to go away.

remove the two screws holding the panel around the door handle and pop it off
this is how to get the window crank off. pop the cover off and remove the
t20 torx (you can also use a 7/32 hex wrench)


remove this screw


and this one.
then lift up on the door panel to remove

lift up the watershield.

heres the plug


the release is on the bottom of the plug. just push it in and pull off.
make sure you keep it out of the way of the window track and put everything back together.

I had a mouse in my truck once and I spent days tryin to find him!

Luckily he didn't naw on any of my wires but I set 3 mouse traps in my truck and 2 of them had the bait gone but the third was one the charm

Its more than likely not your switch....How would mice get in your door????They can't! So either your switch is bad or they chewed up the wire thats in your wire harness and you have to check it. Your light should go out even though your switch is bad as a vehicle safety feature so that your dome light will go out...I didn't fix mine because I like the fact that I can have my door open without the dinger goin offf!
