Fabricated Step bars, Pics please

Im bouncing around the idea of having some tube steps made. Since I can't reallt find something i like prefabbed for a reg. cab ranger. I was wondering if any one has made tube steps. I've been eyeballing Zabeards sliders but the aren't exactly what im thinking of. My idea is kinda a cross between a rock slider and the dominator tube steps. Here's a very rough idea of what I mean.

truck

\_______________/ -tube tighter to the body was even thinking of using
---- \______/ ----- rectangular tubing.
---- step

have the step extend at an angle from the main tube so the step would be slightly lower than main tube, and not to extend further form the body than the wheels stick out.

So if any has done something similar at all or any fabbed step bars post up the pics please.

Also to all the guys that are actually skilled at this stuff just how feasible is this idea. My fab skills are pretty rudimentary, but I have access to equipment and people who do have the skills. Im figuring on hanging around to help where ever I can and try and pick up some skills.

I really wanted the dominators, but they don't make them for the Rangers anymore. I have zabeard sliders and love them.

I love the look of them also and I dont have to use my step bars getting into the truck i just jump in but my g/f is only 5'2 and she has too. Im afraid that she would break her leg if she slip on them.

Do them in line-x so they aren't slippery. I did mine in bedliner in a can and it isn't bad at all.

With something like that I don't think they will slide at all. Won't the steps get hung up, rendering the "sliders" useless?

Why not just make the sliders out of square 2"x4" stock, or maybe bigger. Then put some grip tape along where you step.

No it would be more of a step than a slider. It mostly a step because the g/f *****es about being able to get in now and my 31s go on this weekend. The bottom pic that andy posted is more like what im thinking of doing. Thanks man that gives me a visual to work from. Now I just need to start make measurements.

a .120 or even .095 wall is more then enough for a simple step like you want.

i thought his were crew? but yeah if its just a step, its no real biggie if you dont use anything super strong. Just depends on what you got laying around for cheap, the size you want, and if your friend has the die sizes you want.
