Just joined, thought I'd share a pic of the flatbed I am building for my 2001 4.0
installed supersprings in the rear to accommodate any extra weight which is minimal. Still gotta weld the deck to the bed frame, it's just set on top in the pic. Gotta get lights tomorrow then wire them and keep on rolling...
I'll post more pics soon. I wanna get the cab- hood- front fenders sprayed, some under bed tool boxes made up for it. Just breathing a little life in the old girl. I like this truck allot and it pulls my welding trailer and little tractor around surprisingly well.
o yeah, I replaced the canister vent valve solenoid while I had the bed off. Check engine light off for now
Mines got a flat bed too. I did like you when it was put on and didn’t do reverse lights but I got some 3 inch led flush mount pods, best thing I ever did. How did you make the underbody boxes.
My tail lights are stop/ turn/ tail/reverse all in one. I'll take a picture of the reverse lights turned on today. I made the toolboxes out of floor tread steel, used a plasma cutter to cut the sheet to size, polish it with a flap disk and welded. Made simple brackets on the under side of bed so the tool box is bolted on in case it needs to be removed.
If you want pics for ideas or just to see let me know
I don't have blueprints,I just measurd how much usable room I had and account for tire travel. Post up some pics of yours. I never see any other flatbed rangers...
See mine still has the stock springs and all on the back and hold the bed pretty good. The front sits a little low so I’m going to order a 2 inch leveling kit for it.
