ford emblem

So I'm wanting to fabricate a ford emblem into my grill, it has the standard one now but I was thinking of fabricating one with The Punisher Skull in it instead of the "ford" saying. We have a local fabrication shop at our local vocational school, any ideas on best type of metal and such for this? I've never done metal fabrication and I would love to learn more about it especially for this project.

i know somewhere online i read about ways to heat them and the rubber coating peels off, people spray them or add vinyl on them and somehow replace the coating for a stock look.

I re-colored my Ford emblems red to match the FX4 on the side, its not too hard. If its for the front emblem, you just remove the emblem, heat it up w/ a heat gun, peal out/off the clear stuff (its thick), clean out the blue paint, mask off the letters and paint, then finish off the emblem by filling it in with Envirotex Pour-On. The Envirotex is like super thick liquid plastic that dries clear. You could easily put anything in the emblem you want, and fill in the emblem with the Pour-On stuff for a factory looking finish.

I am pretty sure your emblems are different than mine which makes them way easier. All you gotta do is seperate the chrome part from the clear/colored part of your emblem, carefully sand off the blue (chrome "Ford" is recessed), mask off the front, paint the back, glue it back in, and you're done! Thats how the rear emblem is on the newer trucks. This is about the best and only Pic I've got of the emblem. Name: S5030124-1.jpg
