Ya it was 'my' first one, but my friend did all the welding. I just brought the idea to him, he knows what he is doing and I have never welded, I helped him whereever I could.

It wont get sprayed for a while. I just got my off road lights sprayed and I don't have/ won't have money for a while. The 'caps' are pieces of metal welded in the tube andthey were grinded down for a solid tube look.

It was designed to protect the back of the bed incase I were to back into a tree while off road or to get rearended.

If yours sticks out its better than most. Andy's I believe was flush with the back of the truck so unless a tree hit his shackle he might incure a lil damage. But it seemed definately strong and I never heard the D rings hitting.
