TTB D35 Armor
I had little time off and decided to add a little armor for the aluminum D35 housing and the yoke. The only thing I am not sure about is the color.lol
Its all 1/4" plate and protects the entire diff and yoke.
I used cardboard to for a pattern. It took a while to turn the cardboard into 1/4" steel, but it turned out pretty good.
It uses a 3/8" 3.5" muffler clamp around the pinion bearing and I boxed in the clamp's saddle, and then it uses the 5 lower bolts from the diff.

3 hrs. Most of that went into getting the front peice cut and shaped. After I bolted it on the res was easy, just cut some cardboard and then transfer it to metal and tack together. I saved all the stencils, so if I ever build another one, I can cut all the pieces ahead of time and then just tack it all together and weld it up.

Seth, great work man! Nothing I love more than homemade parts!
How about some of these bolt protectors:
They are a bit pricey though.

Its been a while since I have been on so i figured I would post an update.
I had to take my skid off so I could tack another one together. I decided to go ahead and add the gussets to mine and the new one I was making.
I dont have any pictures of it on the truck since the paint was still drying when I left for school.
