Welder Question

I wanna make me some rocksliders, skidplates, etc. I dont wanna spend a lot on a welder so it will probally be an arc welder cuz they are a lot cheaper. My question is this, how many amps should i be looking for on the welder? I am gonna be welding stuff less than 1/4" probally.

Agreed, go with the Lincoln 125 AMP mig flux core welder. You can get from Home Depot for around $300. Will work on 110V and in the future you can upgrade to mig with a gas solenoid option.

Just make sure you use a 20amp circuit and no extension cords when using it. Especially for the 1/4" work, you will need the power to get the penetration. Used to drive me nuts when I first got mine prior to upgrading the circuit.
