If I was doing it, I'd use a Ron Francis Telorvek harness. I LOVED the install on my 87 5.0 swap using the Telorvek harness. Nice new wire and connectors, no corrosion, no broken or stripped wires.. Fully customizable as far as wire length and routing. WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

You need it all
Computer, and wiring harness
You are changing from the newer computer system(104 wire), 1995 and up Fords to the older computer(60 wire), 1994 and older Fords
Wiring diagrams here: https://therangerstation.com/tech_li...p_wiring.shtml
But not for 1995 and up conversion
Your dash will be OK to use, 1996 speedo is electric but hook up directly to VSS on the current transmission which is staying the same?
Oil pressure and temp wires are the same
Tach can be wired in
Fuel gauge won't be disturbed
Not sure of 1988 tbird had a Boost gauge?
Also good info here on this swap: https://therangerstation.com/tech_library/Turbos.shtml
