Nice find. Sounds like a decent deal to get more power out of the 3.0's.

Every Whipple I have ever seen go on a 3.0 has been taken off. There is a reason Whipple doesn't make it anymore.

The problem is that the 3.0 can't even handle a little boost in stock form.

If you were to get a nice rebuild if it's high miles. ARP bolts and such. Needing a higher flow fuel pump, Cam for performance reasons, exhuast, after market header and all that jazz I wouldn't see a problem. unless you did a cheap build and wanted to lbow ya 3.0 up

Just search and you will see how many pull them off because they blow head gaskets.

They blow gaskets because of the head bolts are weak, upgrade those to ARP and you should see very little problems with the head gaskets... I also think the head bolts are spaced out too far apart leaving some weak points from where the head and block meets the gasket.

there wasnt a problem with the 3.0's they can take a good beating, now if you are just plain stupid and run a **** load of boost and not upgrade the internals yeah any motor is going to blow even the 4.0 and 2.3's its common knowledge, dont knock on the belated 3.0 its a tough ****. It can take 12psi from a turbo and a supercharger with ease with a good tune, and fuel upgrades.... and with that you hit atleast 300 horsepower and still be safe.

dont come on here saying that the 3.0 cant handle any boost, because thats saying that a 4.0 or a 2.3 cant take any boost either... Whipple stopped making them cause they were having reported problems with the blades within the supercharger, those who running a whipple on their 3.0 have corrected this problem.
