and i wonder if it voids the warranty on a new truck?? I love the 05's, but ill only buy one if it comes Std cab 3.0 Supercharged. Or if Ford would offer the 4.0 in a Std cab. Does anyone know? I know the guys in the parts department at my local dealer but they dont know, and they stay sorta busy to ask them to take the time out to call and ask. i know the part #. i love rangers, gotta get a new one. Dont care how much debt it puts me in. thanks for any help guys.

You can get a 2004 XLT 4x4 4.0l with a regular cab.

As far as I know it completely voids the powertrain warranty. If it didn't it would be a dealer-installed option.

The whole reason it went to back to the board for more tests was to keep the warrenty.

The whipple does not void your warranty unless the dealer can prove it caused the failure. For '05 Ford is offering a Reg. cab long bed with the 4.0L and an automatic.

Does the Whipple have to be dealer-installed to maintain the factory warranty?

I think so... and you dont want to void a warranty. My truck didnt come with one so I can Mod all I want.

Actually I'm going to be out of warranty within 6 months anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I already have 22K miles on my truck!

Some reason I don't mind gettin a newer Ranger with the same options as my old one. :D Even if its a 3.0L I would demand that a Whipple be installed directly from Ford.
