Messing with the gopro in Pismo

Went out to Pismo yesterday and played around with the gopro. Here is a quick raw slow motion video. I thought I'd share.

Thanks, it get's a little choppy when slowing it down too much. I recorded at 1080p @ 60 fps. I want to try 720p @ 120 fps and see how much smoother it is.

nice!

Also try the 240p mode in the WVGA. not super HD but doesn't look too bad, but gives some nice slomo. That is depending on which gopro you have

I have the 3+ silver which only 120 fps in the WVGA. I didn't really know what I was buying when I got my first gopro, but I want to get another one. Either the 3+ black, or 4 silver. My main reason is both of these are better for low lighting, which the 3+ silver isn't good at.

Still a lot of fun to mess around with a camera you aren't worried about breaking.

What did you use to edit the clips? For super clean slo-mo I use Sony Vegas with Twixtor. It allows me to get super slo-mow with no choppy footage. I use my Hero 3+ black at 1080 60fps. Here is a video I made with a lot of slo-mo by using my editing method.

I just used the sh!tty editing software that the gopro comes with. I need to get different software to edit my videos. Maybe I'll try out the Sony Vegas software. Your video looks a lot cleaner than mine and they were filmed at the same resolution and frame rate.

Yeah the software available from GoPro is complete garbage. I definitely did not want to loose the 1080p quality just to get more fps. In fact I've even upgraded from my GoPro to a DSLR that shoots some pretty good quality at 60 fps.
