I see. So essentially simply the system to make it better? That's always a good trade. Too bad it's a $4500 trade. Keep us posted on your decision Beard. And thanks for the explanation.

4500? it is actually around 2000 installed by them. which isnt that bad compared to what they have included in the kit and all that is involved in installation.

i have installed the factory cooler 3 times. id just prefer to never mess with it again.

Nice Zach. I'd go for it. I don't know about the 6.4, but with the 6.0 you change the oil cooler and switch to a silicate free coolant and you're good to go. The coolant is what the powerstroke's bad rep comes from. I'd say it would have been in Ford's best interest in avoiding the motocraft gold coolant and following internationals advice on using ELC and the powerstrokes would have a better rep.

Either way, i'd go ditch the factory oil cooler for peace of mind. Good luck.

Thanks Ryan. The 6.0 and 6.4 are very similar. Just I have compound turbos. Heads and block are a bit different. I need to switch to an ELC coolant as well.

January 17th, heading to Maryland Diesel Performance...

4" Downpipe
44mm Wastegate
MPD Oil Cooler kit

Should be interesting and it should make the truck reliable, ive been fighting these stupid oil temps forever and it should give me scalability should i ever need it. I really dont want to spend that much extra on the truck but I really dont have much of a choice. Id loose over half what I am going to spend on trade and that doesnt include all the money I spent to fix it in the past. Its hard to let it go knowing id loose all that. I like it and it is what I have always wanted (minus the issues) id just like to run this thing into the ground and keep going.

Craig at MPD really hooked me up and Ive heard great things about them.

That's what I get for trusting Nick!

Did you read the entire thread? I dunno its a toss up to me.

You get one old guy that gets upset and he gets his posse involved.

I think most people are upset because he is so young

I kind of agree. I also find it odd that bigrpowr and Dzchey21 are backing MDP up, both of which have met Craig and Mike from MDP....

Seems like there is more to the story than we are seeing.

I cannot see the thread because im not a member on powerstroke whatever, but any company can get one bad feedback and it can ruin their reputation. Everyone makes mistakes(like i said i cant read whatever it is) and some people exaggerate a lil bit when they are angry...

its a typical unhappy customer and others decide to chip in and take his side. I am not doubting that it didnt happen and it should be handled differently but its not my business.

I will be watching them do the work I have done it myself 3 times so i know what is involved and how it should be done. I will correct whatever appears to be incorrect.

Also mine is a 1 day job where that guys instance was some huge project and spent over 6 months there...

After reading into it more it looks like the guy put a single turbo on it. I think MDP told him the twins where in bad shape. He came there drove it, said it had power after the single turbo. Now all of a sudden he gets home and he complains thats its slower. He also complains that there is a exhaust leak. Which after installing my exhaust and a couple warm up and cool down cycles it started leaking too.

The thing that made him really upset was MDP used his turbo on another project. MDP stop replying to the thread so I do not know the story but its possible they rebuilt it.

If the guy is so worried about it why didn't he take it back?

He can supposedly do his own work, so shouldn't he have said something?

I wouldn't worry about it, same thing with the guy who built my quad engines. He was only 16-17 when he started his shop. he is now 23? Builds engines for the top pros now

Yeah I had read the entire thread. I wouldn't call them a posse, I just think that more people thought that something stunk about it the situation.

Zach, I'm glad its at least only a one day deal being done, not a long project. Total relief.

Ouch! Was it just the two that I saw?
How are they going to fix them?

yeah just those two.

I was really surprised. It appears by the quote that they are filling and smoothing them out then painting. new pin stripes etc. The insurance said if it was more they would take care of it directly with the body shop.

Already commented at the "other" forum. Sort of makes it difficult having to update so many threads, huh?
