Moog Vs Napa Ball Joints

Any diffrence? Napa is close to my house and per online stores the Napa upper arms and lower ball joints are not much more. I will prabably only spend $20 dallors to get the napa.

I plan on replacing them when I do my front suspension. I am not doing a lift but looking for more travel like a pre runner. So which do you think will hold up better? Or is there really no diff?

Moog. You already know my opinion. BTW Napa the uppers if they go out you have to replace the WHOLE arm not just the balljoint.

www.rockauto.com has the arms you need.

The Ball Joint King has spoken! lol

I am pretty sure they are just one piece now too.

I JUST put on Moog uppers.......fully replaceable. Upgraded to the 03+ style passenger side arm as well. You can see the snap ring in the pic. I'm not 'challenging' you D, I'm just sayin'...in the last month i've ordered and put on new moog uppers that I got from RockAuto.com

My opinion is based on many who work in the world of automotive greatness.....they are just about the only joint out there, that outlasts OEM.

Plus, the upper arms have replaceable ball joints, where anywhere else sells joints builts into the arm...non replaceable. So......

Yea......I got the uppers for $105 each, and the lowers for about $30 each.....Total from rockauto.com was $300 shipped for 2 uppers, 2 lowers, and 1 set of moog cam bolts.

MOOG, don't settle for less on suspension parts (ball joints, u-joints, TRE's, etc.)

RockAuto.com FTW!

Local Autoparts store wanted a total of $475 for uppers and lowers. I paid $300 shipped from rock auto.

NAPA used to sell a "fleet grade" balljoint that was supposed to be very good. I tried to buy some a year ago and was told that they had been discontinued. Same for Modine radiators that they used to carry. Like so many stores, NAPA is switching over to high profit Chinese parts for a lot of their lines.

Also, it's always a good idea to check inside the box(es) before you leave the parts store. I recently bought 2 TRW lower balljoints for our van. Opened up a box and verified that it was greasable. Cool ... or so I thought. Got home and found that one was greasable and the other was not. Arrgh. Same company, same box, same part number. Took it back, then had to go to another store across town to find a second greasable joint.

Agreed Bob. I have gotten to hate NAPA. I almost exclusively go to O'Reilly Auto Parts. They seem to carry a bunch of U.S.A. manufactured parts.

Rock Auto is awsome also!

I'm looking to upgrade to MOOG uppers and lowers.

Can someone provide the part#'s for these? I want to order them asap for a 2002 ranger edge.

I'm guessing it's K8708T or K8710T or K80068? Those are for the uppers anyway, haven't found the lowers.

Can someone please confirm before I purchase these?

The 2-piece passenger side arm (MOOG K8710T) is out of production although you still may be able to find them out there. If not, just substitue the 1-piece PS arm (MOOG K80068).

Driver side is one-piece for yours (MOOG K8708T)

Some part numbers for UCAs, lower ball joints and tie rod ends.

PS 2-piece style ball joint carrier only 98~2003 1/2
(MOOG K8710T) :

Note: this part is discontinued and may not be available. The entire 2-piece PS UCA assembly can be replaced by the 1-piece K80068.

Ok so I'll need to order:
1 - DS one-piece UCA 98~2006:
(MOOG K8708T): For Driver side?

Or will this fit DS & PS?

1 - PS one-piece UCA 2003 1/2~2006:
(MOOG K80068) : For Passenger Side?

Or will this fit DS & PS?

2 - Lower ball joints only 98+
Greasable, fits DS and PS
(MOOG K8695T) : For lower ball joints?

1 MOOG K8708T DS upper arm
1 MOOG K80068 PS upper arm
2 MOOG K8695T lower ball joint - same DS and PS

If you want to also change to greasable tie rod ends, they are the same DS and PS: MOOG ES3461

To replace the lowers, some chain auto parts stores offer a free tool loan program. Just leave them a refundable deposit for the ball joint tool, probably around $100.
