Moog ball joints

so i am about to order some moog lower and upper ball joints. i know that you need to get a left side upper and a right side upper but for the lower ones they are the same for both sides correct?

make sure when you get them to check and see if you have a one-piece passenger side upper arm or a two-piece, they make different passenger side upper control arms and they are hit-or-miss as to which one you have

The two piece can be replaced with the one piece though.

yes but if he orders the two piece and already has a one piece then he is in trouble. personally i like the caster adjustment that the two piece offers

When I got mine I went with the two-piece design again just so it was less work.

I see where you're coming from though.

You cannot get the 2 piece ones anymore. They are listed on their website, but MOOG doesnt make them. My 98 had the two piece UCA, and when I went to NAPA the part superseded to the one peice.

if you already have a MOOG two peice you dont need to ever replace the arm again the ball joint comes out of that arm and is replaceable

There used to be two types of the two piece Cntrl Arms, reg and Over-Sized.
It looks like they have changed things:
The Upper CA/Ball Joint - MOOG Part # 8708 and the 8710 were the oversized unit but now they are just called “Problem Solver” and the Lower: MOOG Part # K8695T006
Frt Susp; Lower; 4WD; Problem Solver; oversized ball joint; fits control arm with 1.749 in. to 1.753 in. I.D.
Not sure if this applies to the Rangers but it does say it will fit an EDGE.
Sorry for bring it up I should have investigated a little more first.

Ask before buying, there might be a HD OVERsized Ball Joint out there.
