Door Ajar Wont Go Off

Door Ajar Wont Go Off

ok well ever since i put in my mustang dome light(not sure if its a conicidince(SP)), i have had a problem with when i shut my door sometimes (only the drivers door) my door ajar light stays on and my doom lights as well.. how do i fix this... it only does it maybe 3 times a week but it bugs me...

mine does that every now and then as well.
I just have to SLAM my door really hard. it usualy goes off.

I think you can spray somthing on somthing to make that stop somone else will chime in!

My 4th door on the drivers side sometimes doesnt trip the door adjar thing, and says a door is open, i just have to slam it and it stops...

mine did that for a day, where the door ajar wouldnt go off, came out of work one night and got in the truck and it went off and hasnt done it sence then

Open the door, put your window up, and spray WD-40 or CRC 3-36 or whatever in the latch and slam the door a few time. Get the spray inside the door, and angle it up a bit into the latch mechanism.

For most of us who have had this problem (and a lot of us have), this fixes it.

doing that ^^^ made mine worse. idk why but after the wd-40 wore off/out i didnt have the problem any more.

mine is usualy when the 4th door isnt shut very tight, and also in the winter it like to be a ***** too because i think thesensor gets frozen and doesnt work too well

Had the same problem on my old '97. Only in the winter though. The dealer fixed it under warranty, but it sounded exactly like what is covered in the link to TRS posted by birdie2000.

WD-40 Did the trick for me. That is annoying as sh**, the dome light not turning off.
