00 Ranger XLT comapatable bumper

Hey Guys I am new here and sure it has been discussed before but am having trouble finding the right info. Hit a deer the other night and need a new front bumper and valance. I would like to know what all are compatable with a 99 XLT 4x4. I saw some guys went with the 01's for the round foglights. If I do this swap or other years do I have to get the brackets for that year as well or are the brackets and supports the same. Please let me know so I can get it back to normal. OH yeah what is the difference between the 2wd and the 4wd bumpers to. Thanks

Everything 98+ will fit as long as you have the brackets and you would have to have the fog light brackets for that year.

I am going to go all new parts being that they are cheap and not sure what is all bent from impact. I just really need to know if I need all the brackets or a certain one. I thought I read some place that the 98-00 bumpers ran a different bracket or bolt pattern than the 01 and ups do. I would like to make sure to round up all the parts before I tear into it and find all the suprises.

Right, you need the specific brackets for that generation.

Hey thanks guys I really appreciate the the fast replies. So if I go junk yardin (redneck termonology) I will need all the brackets from whatever year bumper and valance I go with. You know how hard it is to find all the good parts on one specific vehicle. If I order new should I just buy all the mounting hardware to know it will work. Most brackets seem pretty cheap just the bumper and lights a little pricey. Have you seen any of the ebay bumpers to know if they are paper thin or decent quality. It seem you can buy a complete set up reasonable minus the brackets.

Brandon hit all the points.

check car-part.com and sort by distance. it tells u the closest yard to you for what you're looking for if they've listed on the site.
