I took my truck in today to get the tranny fluid replaced and while I waited decided to look around the lot.

I went to the section with the rangers and was suprised to see that they hardly had any...which they usually have half the lot full of them. So after checkin out a 05 Fx4 I decided to take a look and see if they had any 05 Mustangs. Not suprisingly they didnt. (only one 04)

While goin back to the service area I spotted another ranger off to the side and kinda stuck in the back. The front end didnt look right so I decided to take a closer look. As I got closer I realized it was an 05 STX Ranger.

It looks pretty nice (metalic grey), I was checkin it out, and the bed looks like it came straight off a Mazda. Its got the nice curve with out the step. Inside it has the silver/chrome surround on the gauges and the radio bezel is carbon fiber. Sticker price was just over $23,000. Not bad at all. I took some pics of it with my camera phone and I gotta go to the store to get a cable to put them on the comp. Ill post them as soon as I get it. (I may head back with my digi came to get some better pics, and to get some pics of the GT they have on the floor)

Just thought Id share, I was pretty suprised to see it there. Didnt know if anyone else had seen one yet.

Jared and I went back and test drove the crap outta the STX. That truck is fun to drive and if I could afford another payment Id be all over it! (sticker was $23,000 and they would sell it to me for around $19,121 ($ nocked off for a returning buyer) then probably around -$3,000 cuz i get the X plan at work)

Anyway, this is a nice lil ranger and the seats actually were kinda cumfy. Im just not liken the wheels and tires, those would have to go. Im also not diggin the mazda tails...anyway..to the pics!!!

Then the GT they had in the showroom. That thing was sweet. I asked one of the salesmen if I could test drive it and he just laughed and looked at me like YEAH RIGHT! (it didnt have a sticker in the window)








Then two pretty nice lifted (fabtech) 4x4 F150s

 

i havent seen any of them around here, it'll probably be a long time before one ever rolls this way, but thats awesome. definately make sure to post some pics

drooooool im digging the front clip of that STX!!! and those billets on the F150s rub me the wrong way... F150s are nice though, i love mine, but its trex billet all the way for me

 

yeah, i didnt like those overlays, you could see the stock grill under it, but that could be easly fixed :D

 

I really don't like the front end on it, but with some tweaking (Edge valance, speed grille), you could make it look good. I love the bed on that thing, and the STX sticker just tops it off. They're also using the mazda tailights.

 

I love the front end...especially the grille. The gauges are badass....I want some of those.

At first I was thinking HOLY ****! It goes up to 120! Then I remembered the Ontario plate frame on the front:( I'd love to have it though!

 

Sorry, the STX does not do it for me. That whole front valance is way too ricey for my taste. You can keep it. Man, it hangs down SO far, it looks like.

Besides, I'd just end up tearing it off somewhere anyway, lol.

 

If I got what you are saying about the speedo going up to 120, yes that is MPH
The ontario thing is saying its in ontario, California not canada, although when I see ontario I always think of canada as well

but the valance is kinda unproportional...or maybe its the camera angle...it looks like its 3 or 4 inches below the rocker panels....eh i dunno....

as long as they start makin euros for it so i can get some!!!!!!! haha

 

Yeah. After looking at it again I realized that MPH is written in white letters and km/h is is red letters. Is that the norm for Rangers now? I think mine goes to 90, which I couldn't hit even if I went downhill:(

The Mazda bed makes the ranger look so much better. Ford did a great job with this. Just needs to sit a little lower to the ground.

 

I WANT THAT CARBON FIBER DASH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ima go see if they would let me buy one... since for some reason mine in my truck keeps peeling this would be the 2nd one i have had....and the stx doesnt go up to 120 gove on it at 95..... dont like the bed stop taking after mazdas...

 

ehh.. i dunno.. i dont think i really like it either.. like john said.. that front valence looks too "off." there's no other ground effects to match it. they should have made some sort of wheel package to go along with it. and that carbon fiber bezel doesnt match anything else in the interior.. looks like they found it on ebay and stuck it in there. i do lik ethe accents in the gauges tho..although i dont like how they rearranged them.

 

if u see a carbonfiber dash like that online than tell me cause i cant find it.... i dont want that sticker crap

 

So is that a 4.0L? I thought the STX was stupidly 3.0L only.

Yeah Wowak it is a 4.0 (w/3.55s) , I thought I mentioned that, but I guess not.
